BOO! Shout children creeping up on indulgent adults who pretend to take fright. It’s a game that children never tire of.

And so, they will immediately associate with naughty little Mala who loves to frighten everyone, the cat, her grandmother and even the postman
Hiss! Boo! Heehaw! Muahahaha! She screams sneaking up behind them. Finally, her mother ‘Bells the Cat’, by buying her a pair of anklets.

CHIK CHIK CHUM go the tiny bells in the anklets as Mala walks and now no one is taken by surprise. But Mala is irrepressible. What does she do?
A simple tale well told.

The illustrations have a zing to them. Ebullient and exuberant they work beautifully with the text, thus creating a book that has all the makings of a favourite.
It’s a book that children will enjoy reading over and over and over again.

I have this book and my kids absolutely love it! It's fun for children because they can relate to it and not to mention how lovely the illustrations are. Really suits the tone and captures the essence of the story. A definite must have!
