An absolutely gorgeous book! It reminds me of a song I had learnt in my childhood days. "I think that I shall never see, a poem lovely as a tree. A tree that looks at God all day and lifts it's leafy arms to pray." b

Screen-printed on black handmade paper, the book captures the poetry and magic of trees. Painted in rich earth tones by three master artists from the Gond folk art tradition, the book employs a variety of perspectives to highlight to the reader, various aspects of trees from the folklore and legends that surround them, to the wildlife that they nurture. In the illustrations, tree, animals, birds, flowers fruit all are one and the same – sometimes they seem like the antlers of a deer, whilst in another they resemble birds, snakes, squirrels and more.

All of them, giving a subtle message - that saving trees is crucial for life itself! With minimal text and each page a visual delight, The Night Life of Trees has a timeless quality and appeal to it.

A BOOK TO TREASURE!
