Paul Zacharia has published over 40 works of fiction and non-fiction and is the recipient of the Kendra Sahitya Akademi award. He has also received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award twice.

His works are known for their humor, irony and directness in confronting the human condition. They include short stories, novellas, travelogues, film-scripts and essays on politics, literature and culture.

He writes regularly for Kerala’s leading newspapers and magazines. His writings in English have appeared in major national periodicals including, ‘India Today’, ‘Outlook’, ‘The Week’, ‘The Hindu’ and ‘Tehelka’. He contributes a bi-weekly column to the ‘New Indian Express”.

He has traveled extensively in India and abroad. He lives in Thiruvanathapuram.
