About the Trophy: This unique trophy has been specially crafted and manufactured in Channapatna, the toy town of Karnataka. Using locally grown wood, skilled craftsmen, both men and women chisel and shape it using hand-held lathes. Next it is coated with lac, coloured with natural dyes. And finally polished to a glossy finish.
This traditional art form is now languishing owing to the advent of cheap plastic toys. Conceptualised in the year 2016 we hope that this trophy will find pride of place in the schools shelves and thus pique the students interest in our traditional art forms in the years to come.
