A perfectly delightful tale. One that has all the ingredients in place to make it a favourite read of children, younger and somewhat older ones too, of a cute and somewhat confused looking elephant, Gajapati Kulapati. The book has it all - humour, absurdity, rhythm, great page layout and great illustrations.

A simple story that children of India can easily relate to, especially those who have experienced the hot and humid weather of the south of India, in general, and of Tamil Nadu, in particular.

It is summer and all anyone can think of is how to stay cool, including – Gajapati Kulapati. When Patti Amma suggests that the best way to do that was to jump in the village pond everyone readily agree and jumped in – the kids, the flower seller, the banana seller, the teacher and a cow. With a PLISH and a PLOSH. A GLISH and a GLOSH. A WHOOSH and a BLOOSH followed by a big, big KALABALOOOOOSH!

The pandemonium caused by poor Gajapati Kulapati is what is going to delight the kids and make them giggle with glee each time they read the book or be read to.

Suitable for kids 0 – 6 years of age.
